Young Sheldon: Missy’s Last George Scene Sets Up Georgie’s Insulting TBBT Story

George’s death in Young Sheldon is already heartbreaking, but Missy’s last interaction with him makes it more tragic while also effectively confirming Georgie’s disparaging story about her in The Big Bang Theory.

 Just when the Coopers are finally getting a few breaks in life after a challenging last couple of years, they are hit with their biggest tragedy thus far — the loss of the family patriarch. 

While George’s unexpected demise was long established in The Big Bang Theory and was expected to happen when Young Sheldon premiered in 2017, the writers were still able to properly execute his death effectively.

George’s death happened off-screen, following a particularly normal morning in the Cooper household ahead of the finale. While the loss of the character was part of The Big Bang Theory canon, 

However, his demise was just far too big to rewrite, and the writers had no choice but to tackle it, especially with George and Mandy’s sequel series called George and Mandy’s First Marriage happening on CBS.

Missy, Mary, and Sheldon have seemingly moved on from George's death in a new Young Sheldon series finale clip. What started like any other day for the Cooper household ended with the family being hit by their biggest tragedy. George died of a heart attack, with the news delivered by his Medford co-workers to his family in the final moments of Young Sheldon season 7, episode 12. With just two episodes left for The Big Bang Theory prequel, all eyes are on Sheldon and his clan as they cope with this heartbreaking incident.

In the Young Sheldon season 7 clip, the trio attends Pastor Jeff's service when Sheldon unexpectedly pulls out his laptop. Intrigued by it, Missy asks if it has games. Mary, on the other hand, is annoyed at her kids because they aren't focused on what they are supposed to do. All in all, however, they appear to have already moved on from George's death.

Just because they appear to have gotten used to the loss of George, it doesn't mean that The Big Bang Theory prequel will gloss over the aftermath of his death. Since the big plot twist happened in the final moments of season 7, episode 12, it didn't have the time to explore how the family really responded to the demise of their patriarch. As seen in the official Young Sheldon series finale trailer, the Coopers will struggle in the aftermath of George's death, as it shows how each of them copes with their grief.
